Thats in line with the companys May projection of 50 billion yen. While Hirai has stressed the importance of ties between electronics and the entertainment business, Sonys board has agreed to consider Loebs proposal to sell part of the entertainment unit in an IPO. Consumer Electronics Sony is focused on creating shareholder value by executing on our plan to revitalize and grow the electronics business, while further strengthening the entertainment and financial services businesses, which generate stable profit, Jim Kennedy , a New York-based spokesman for Sony, said in an e-mailed statement. Third Point, based in New York , said in May that it held a Sony stake valued at $1.1 billion, and since then it has been pushing Loebs plan. An independent board and shareholders would lead to more disciplined and Kim Kardashians boobs accountable management at Sonys Culver City , California-based movie and television studio, Loeb has said. By Ethan Sacks / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 3:16 PM The film has grossed a disappointing $163.9 million worldwide against a reported budget of $250 million. Who was that micd man? Lone Ranger producer Jerry Bruckheimer says history will prove his latest movie is a lot better than critics currently believe. While promoting his new CBS show, The Hostages at the Summer Television Critics Association tour Monday, the 69-year-old producer defended the film widely dismissed as the biggest bust of the summer. Jason Merritt/Getty Images for CW Producer Jerry Bruckheimer defended The Lone Ranger: Its going to be looked back on as a brave, wonderful film. He was a womanizer, liar, swindler, and a man of many more faults. He started a metal pots factory with Jewish labor that he recruited from the Nazi's. He paid off the Germans with bribes/gratuities to get the people he wanted. His right hand man was a Jew by the name of Itzhak Stern (Ben Kingsley). He let Stern run the factory because Schindler did not know how to. He knew how to grease the Germans to get what content he wanted but he was no business man. He was a con man.
Read more: http://www.examiner.com/review/schindler-s-list-movie-review-this-is-life

An 'Artemis Fowl' Movie Is Coming, So We Cast The Lead!

He likes to eat at Coles, the egalitarian, downtown L.A. lunch spot thats been serving up French Dips and cold pints for a hundred and five years. He doesnt lie when asked about his age, though he wryly notes that his managers have explicitly instructed him to do so. (Though he looks 30, hes an unabashed 41.) A former stand-up comedian , Rubin still dresses like hes about to walk on-stage: Narrow lapeled suit paired with a crisp, white shirt and equally narrow albeit casually-loosened tie. Most crucially, though, he grew up the poor kid at a rich school in his case, Manhattans elite Dalton School, but was ferried between the apartments of his two struggling, divorced parents. But as it turns out, this was perfect preparation for modern moviedom.
Read more: http://entertainment.time.com/2013/07/31/rise-of-the-zombeavers-hollywood-sinks-its-teeth-into-the-micro-budget-movie/

Ty Simpkins To cast Simpkins would require a little more over a makeover than others on this list, but his turn in "Iron Man 3" showed that we can expect some big things from him. It's certainly not easy to pull off the whole "kid sidekick" role and not come pics of Kim Kardashian off as precious or annoying. Jared Gilman Jared completely wowed us as Sam, the romantic Khaki Scout from Wes Anderson's "Moonrise Kingdom," and while he's looking a little too old as of this recent Verizon Wireless ad , we think he could pull it off as Artemis. Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick You might remember him as Damien from the regrettable "Omen" remake, but Seamus recently resurfaced as Ethan Hawke's son in "Before Midnight," a role that was decidedly less creepy than his turn as the anti-Christ. Hero Fiennes-Tiffin What better audition reel could there be for the role of Artemis Fowl than that scene in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" with Ralph Fiennes' nephew as the future Dark Lord? Nothing. There is nothing better.
Read more: http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2013/07/30/artemis-fowl-movie-casting/
