Verizon already has a streaming product as part of a joint venture with Redbox, which focuses mostly on streaming movies and not on TV shows, according to its website. Under development by a 350-person team, OnCue would use a massive back-end server to record all aired programming local, national, and international and store it in the cloud for at least three days. Users could then simply turn on the box to watch any show or movie that aired in the last few days, with the added ability to rewind and fast forward without a local DVR connection. Verizon, meanwhile, already offers its own pay TV and broadband services to 13 states via FiOS. But the company has shown an interest in branching out, most notably through its Redbox Instant DVD rental and streaming video service , which launched in public beta earlier this year. This week, Redbox Instant by Verizon arrived on the PlayStation 3. Editor's Note: This story was updated at 11:35 a.m. <br>Source: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2426560,00.asp
